Join Inkron as a Senior Process Engineer working with advanced optical materials for AR/VR and display waveguide manufacturing in Espoo, Finland. In this role, you will develop and test processing methods for next-generation materials used in waveguides and coatings with real technological impact. Apply by April 30, 2026.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will execute and manage R&D and customer projects related to the processing of Inkron’s materials, especially nanoimprinting of AR waveguides, to support the successful adoption of the materials into mass production. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of these nanoimprint materials and optical coatings.
You will independently plan and carry out tests, and characterize the processing of the materials to support different projects. The main process is nanostructure replication by nanoimprinting, and closely related processes include resin application by spin coating or inkjetting, as well as possible post-processing steps such as inorganic coatings.
You will perform and coordinate various structural and optical analyses of the processed materials, and will also coordinate the reliability testing of the materials.
You will work closely with the process team, as well as the R&D team and international customers. In customer projects, you will be directly involved and have responsibility for customer communication as part of the team.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience and ability to lead projects independently
- Strong background in nanotechnology, optics, or materials science
- Experience and understanding of the nanoimprinting process and related structural characterization
methods (such as AFM, SEM, and ellipsometry) are highly appreciated - Understanding of optics, optical coatings, lithographical processes, and materials is a clear advantage
- Hands-on, problem-solving, and proactive working style
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
- Fluent English and good communication skills
- Team player with an innovative mindset
