Join Inkron as a Chemist (temporary 1.5-year maternity leave), working with advanced UV-curable optical materials for AR/VR and display waveguide manufacturing in Espoo, Finland. In this role, you will develop next-generation materials for nanoimprinting, waveguides, coatings, and adhesive applications with real technological impact. Apply by June 10, 2026.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work on customer projects related to UV-curable optical materials while also contributing to the development of next-generation materials for nanoimprinting, waveguides, coatings, and adhesive applications.
You will design, synthesize, and characterize new polymers and hybrid materials, as well as formulate, optimize, and test UV-curable resins, coatings, and adhesives. In addition, you will perform optical, mechanical, and reliability testing of the developed materials.
You will work closely with the R&D team, production, and international customers, and participate in material scale-up, documentation, and transfer into production.
Requirements
- MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong background in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, or materials chemistry
- Experience with UV-curable materials is highly appreciated
- Understanding of optics, optical coatings, refractive-index engineering, or nanoimprinting is considered a strong advantage
- Hands-on, proactive, and problem-solving working style
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
- Fluent English and strong communication skills
- Team player with an innovative mindset
